Theater, film, cultural history, great food, travel, social/political activism, dancing, animals, the ocean (would love to learn to surf)
Many of the people I'd like to meet are from the past but I'm very lucky to have already met many people with us now whom I admire. I would still like to meet many others - including Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, Aung San Suu Kyi, the Dalai Lama, Noam Chomsky, Miss Prissy, George Clooney, Laird Hamilton...and would like to meet and know people who understand the concept of raising vibrations, connection to the source, diverse lateral rising and the fusion of sprirituality and sensuality.
tend to like popular music connected to lyrics/poets....Tom Waits, U2, REM, Patti Smith, Dylan, Eminem, Vic Chestnutt and great r&b voices Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner.... getting more and more interested in world music etc.. though also like classical and some jazz and stage musicals
Documentaries and mockumentaries. (i.e. RIZE, AMERICAN MOVIE, Christopher Guest films, Incident at Loch Ness) Epic films connected to historical people and events as well as myths and hero journeys and multi layered story lines (current examples Babel, Pan's Labyrinth, Syrianna - past Lawrence of Arabia, Wings of Desire..) Also, character study driven films that blur line between fiction and documentary (like the ones Jim McKay directs and produces - Our Song, Spring Forward....) Really smart absurdist, satirical work - Being John Malkovich, Borat...) Spike Lee - who has never gotten his due (watch WHEN THE LEVEES BROKE!)
Documentary and cultural programming and films. (so mainly watch HBO, PBS, pay per view, arts channels, history, discovery, animal planet channels and Bravo reality shows like PROJECT RUNWAY,TOP CHEF (guilty pleasures - also LAW AND ORDER) South Park, Jon Stewart....
Don't get to read as much as I'd like - mainly reading non fiction, theater history, biographies, and plays - lots and lots and lots of plays....
Mother Teresa, Joseph Papp, Martin Luther King, Noam Chomsky, Andreina Delia Burich (my mom). Michael Moore (in spite of himself) Doctors Without Borders. Red Cross workers. Political/civil rights activists. Documentary filmmakers and war correspondents of integrity. Teachers in at risk locations. Anyone who holds the course in trying to raise it all up a notch, tries to stay connected to the source - especially those who are never really publicly acknowleged and keep doing it anyway. Artists who stay true to their work in the face of it all.
