Cundee United was recorded at the Seagate Studios, Dundee on 15th June 2008 amid scenes of tangerine euphoria and downright good natured mayhem! It was the culmination of a collaboration between Stevie and Gary a year or two ago in a local factory (which they were eventually made redundant from – no wonder, they did fuck all!)
Stevie come up with the name and began throwing melodies at Gary who was writing classic Arab poems in the factory shitey when he was meant to be working. Big Alex downed a bottle of cheap wine then joined for a laugh and Tez was randomly drafted in whilst innocently scooping a pint in the 4Js. Hooly had a megaphone and a tambourine and was loitering outside the 4Js looking for a band to join. He payed the bribe of “twa packets o blackcurrant Chewits†and was allowed in. Totally United was born and a new era was about to begin.
