Hectic Harmoniz are a crew of Manchester based promoters, djs, mcs and outlandish skankers consisting of DJs : Joe V, Optimus, Prime and Mamba with MCs Frisko, Mitch and Eddy P along with Nick H who has helped us to promote over the past year. Hectic was born about 18 months ago now when we launched our event in style at K2 MMSU with a line up featuring Nicky Blackmarket, Prophecy and residents. Since then we have built up quite an event portfolio featuring some of the biggest names on the scene including: Grooverider, TC, Brockie, Fresh, JJ Frost, Bad Company, Mampi Swift, Bassline Smith, to name but a few! In March of this year we hooked up with legendary drum and bass promoters Hysteria to bring the first Hysteria event in over 10 years to Manchester with a line up including Bryan G, Ray Keith, G Dub and Taxman this was certainly one of the biggest factors in establishing us as a regular event in Manchester’s drum n bass calendar and also one of the crews biggest achievements as promoters. In June we teamed up with close allies Daylite Robbery Sound System (DRSS) to showcase two legends of jungle Bizzy B and Remarc this night featured musical variation that is rarely seen in Manchester with a pure junglist main room, drum n bass, dubstep and breakcore in room two and live punk and ska in room three!Since then Hectic has taken a slightly different direction focusing more on the up and coming jump up scene set to take the world of drum and bass by storm over the next few years. We wanted to provide something new and fresh to Manchester and hopefully something people won’t have seen before, with this in mind we have brought in such new jump up stars as Modified Motion, Woodpacka and Jaydan and recently featured Dj Ruffstuff, a true legend and pioneer of the genre.In September Hectic embarked on a new project, a weekly event hosted at Glass bar in Fallowfield every Thursday called ‘Shattered’. This event was generally meant to be a springboard for our main monthly event but we have found that as the weeks passed it has taken on its own status and identity and is now something we can use to really showcase local up and coming talent – something that is of great importance to us, with a crowd of regular faces in attendance week in week out.One thing is for certain Hectic has not been without its problems over the past 18 months. Some will know and many will not that event promotion is a very hard and costly business to be in and at times it has certainly been a struggle. Even in our short history we are one of the most travelled events in Manchester hosting events in no less than eight venues in 18 months. But most importantly we have always bounced back bringing in our opinion some of the best parties in drum n bass of recent times, if you don’t believe us come down and witness for yourself! When all is said and done everyone in the Hectic family is different which has always helped us to put on musically varied events featuring underground music from across the board, dubstep, jungle, reggae, hip hop and break-core are just some of the genres we have featured at our events but one thing all of us have in common we are all seriously focused on partying! We are all united by the belief that the most important factor in a successful event is making sure everyone has a good night and that the party vibes continue right the way through till 4am!As for the future we hope to continue to bring you serious music, serious bass and serious party skankathons!
