This is becoming a pattern for me to not update my page for a really long time! Oh well I might as well get it over with. This year was really pretty good until two weeks before Christmas, I had to euthanize my beloved horse Bandit. I got a call in the afternoon from the owner of the pasture he was kept on letting me know that he didn't come in for afternoon grain, which was highly unusual. After picking up a stock of drugs thinking he was running a fever me and Ricardo drove down to see him. I knew from the second I set eyes on him that something was horribly wrong, and unfortunately my intuition wasn't wrong. Bandit was extremely neurologic when we found him, walking backwards instead of forwards and unable to stand on his feet. I thank the heavens above that I had my Bach rescue remedy on hand which enabled Bandit to stand up long enough to get him out of the corner where he had fallen down. I held him on the ground through seizures and everything. I was so glad my boss was able to come out and euthanize him rather than me having to call out a grumpy country vet. I was well prepared having helped her give peace to many other horses. He passed quietly with me by his side, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I just wish he could have held out until after Christmas.
Sorry if I made anyone sad it's just hard to lose a friend that has been with you through everything for 14 years, including meeting my husband and graduating college. I guess he figured I no longer needed him to help guide my life, and that it was time for me to spread my wings and fly.Tanya
