I am Adam James McGurk, one of two children born to Lillias and Paul McGurk, the other is my younger brother Jonathan Paul McGurk.Born 13th of November 1986, in Croydon, South London i lived there until shortly before my brother was born three years later. We moved to a quiet but chav infested town called Crawley, West Sussex, where i attended Milton mount first and middle school, then Hazelwick secondary school. I will summarize my time in compulsory education simply by saying 'i did my time.'From there it gets a bit more interesting. I moved over a town to a place called Horsham and attended Collyers college. Here i was aquatinted with and abundance of fresh faces new culture and general good times. Most importantly i met the people i, to this day, consider my closest and most trusted friends. After to years of A level studies i moved to Nottingham with the intent of studying Media and Cultural studies with Communication in Society. Sounds boring, it was. Due to a monumental lack of forward planning and a general disregard for my education there was little serious thought applied when choosing my course at university. Consequently half way through my second term i 'dropped out'. Originally with the intention of returning to a different, better suited course.Almost a year on and i have made no effort to go back. However i have moved quickly through the ranks of Nottingham's plentiful bar industry, moving up through three different venues, from bar tender, through supervisor, finally to assistant general manager. A position which i proudly hold at Bar 11.
