Hello There!This myspace page is run by 3 students from the New England School of Communications in Bangor, ME. Shaun, Mell and Dean are in Prof. DePoy's Public Relations class, and this is part of our project.At the beginning of the semester in September, we had to choose a non-profit organization/group and either choose to do some PR for them, or hold an event. We chose an organization called 'Casting for Recovery'.'Casting for Recovery' is a national non-profit organization that brings breast cancer survivors on weekend retreats and teaches them how to fly fish. Shaun's mom attended the retreat after beating breast cancer in the summer of 2005. Mell's aunt is a survivor of breast cancer but was unaware of an organization like 'Casting'. Dean is just dedicated to saving women's breasts!! JK!!!! lol.For our project, we are putting coffee cans in Bangor-area stores, hoping to collect change so we can "Change" peoples minds about the steriotype of breast cancer survivors as there are a lot of stigmas and sometimes scary images attached to the words "cancer surviviors"! In April, we will be holding a benefit dinner and presenting 'Casting for Recovery' with a check for whatever amount we have collected.So please, enjoy our site/project, and if you have ANY questions, send us an email....
