It all starts in 2000 with Stefan Pluym and Alfred van de Wege. They meet each other in a small radio station in their hometown Gorinchem (The Netherlands). Both of them have a big interest in electronic music, which results in the two of them creating music together: Quillroader sees the light of day.
The style they want to produce is a blend of trance, progressive & house with a typical balearic Quillroader-sound. This sound is a mixture of contemporary beats, peculiar sounds and surprising effects. If you enjoy music from Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Miika Kuisma and Above & Beyond, you will certainly enjoy the Quillroader-productions.
Late 2004 they start to host their own radio show on the Dutch national radio station Yam FM, which also broadcasts through satellite all over Europe and worldwide-internet broadcasting. In their show called Yamix, they play all their favourite tunes and try the new releases of Quillroader. They quit with the show after the station stops it's broadcast in june 2006. In januari 2007 they start there own syndicated radioshow called QR-Global which is aired over several radiostations worldwide.
Quillroader has been working on a live-set with a dj accompanied by live drums, guitar, keys and a vocalist. It turned out to be a huge hit, and the audience loves it. Also Stefan and Alfred keep on doing gigs with back-2-back dj-sets.
2008 has been a nice production year so far for the QR-boys, an EP released in februari with the Vivaldi remixes and to complete the summer a release with the guys of Tokugawa's Drums called Mayan Sun, out on Vandit Digital. In late december they also released an EP called Panarea / Nightshift on Subtraxx. The received airplay from dj's like Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Dj Shah, Sebastian Brand and Marcus Shössow, just to name a few.
In januari they released a single called Sydney Sundown on RMS Records, and a lot of more tracks are coming up! You will certainly here more from these dutch producers.
