...On her background Lizette, began at the age of nine (when her teacher made her sing in front of the class) and continued through the years performing for school assemblies, family gatherings, talent shows and concerts. By the age of sixteen, Lizette had won her third state award in the National Guild Piano Playing Recitals - a division of The Guild American College of Musicians and won a scholarship in the singing category competition for the John Robert Powers modeling/acting school. At seventeen she placed Honorable Mention in a preliminary Star Search Competition, where other artists have also initiated their careers, such as Alanis Morisette, Britney Spears and others. At nineteen she entered the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston, where top level executives and artists in the music industry have also attended, such as Quincy Jones, Juan Luis Guerra, Melissa Ethridge, Coldplay and many others. After Berklee, Lizette moved to New York, where she attended The School for Film & Television and focused in Acting, at the same time she performed at various venues around the city. After New York, she relocated to Miami, upon arrival she performed at the 1st Latin Urban Music Festival in front of an audience of more then 10,000 people. Shes currently writing and producing her forthcoming album due to be release in the U.S., Latin American and European markets this fall.On her music Lizette's music is in the genre of Pop/Rock, influenced by many different styles and cultures. She blends accoustic and electronic sounds, giving both an organic and ethereal tone to her music, built on a genre-defying mix of pop rock, folk, latin and poetry. It is instrumentally characterized by its percussive piano, strong colorful rhythms and sometimes melancholic strings. Serving as a backdrop to the lyrics which voice social and political concerns, karma, love, broken relationships, soul searching and other issues. All these elements enhanced by her singing, which is sultry and gentle at one end and powerful and vicious at the other, evoking a spectrum of emotional responses to the listener. In addition, with her voice she creates multiple layers harmonically intertwined and instrumentally like effects, weaving a spell that mesmerizes.
