Hi, my name is Tom and I am currently living in Dayton Ohio. I have lived in Dayton since August of 2002 and before that 8 months in Toledo. I grew up in West Michigan. I am right at 6 ft tall with an average build, strawberry blonde hair and fair skin. I have 2 brothers, no sisters and my parents are still married after 30+ years.
I work in the parks and recreation field as a Recreation Leader. Overall I stay pretty busy and every day is a new adventure. I work somewhat normal hours on a weekly basis but I am not your standard 9-5 M-F worker. I have always considered going into the computer field and hope to start taking classes soon. It should take me about a year and a half to complete an associates degree in that program. I also hope to someday own my own business or perhaps even make a CD Rom that will make some money and be popular.
I would describe my personality as being organized, jokester, realistic, caring, honest, very affectionate, forward with a sense of humor. I will also tell it how it is so if you ask me a question, you will get my honest response. I am very organized in that I know where everything goes, want everything to be in the right place that way when asked I know right where to find it. All the clothes in my closet are in there sorted by type, all athletic pants, then dress pants, athletic shirts, dress shirts etc... Around new people I tend to be the listener unless I am being asked questions then I will be more social. A good friendly debate is always good and fun as well.
Some things I enjoy doing would be first and foremost sports. I work in the sports field so I am sure it is a safe to assume everyone reading would think that would be a hobby. I most like to play volleyball, followed by tennis, basketball and racquetball. I also will play softball, flag football and soccer. I enjoy bike rides and I even have taken a rowing class although I never really picked it up after the training class ended. I also like to go bowling and enjoy sports pub games like table tennis/ping pong, darts, shufflepuck and pool. If you enjoy being active, count me in.
I support the Detroit professional teams which are the Pistons, Tigers, Red Wings and even though the Lions have been basically horrible for over 50 years I root for them as well. Not big into the college sports scene but I do still keep up on the latest happenings.
I like to travel. I am more into the day or weekend trips to the larger cities around the midwest but not opposed to longer trips either. Last year I went to Florida for a week and drove down and back. I love driving and putting the pedal to the metal (literally most of the time) on the Interstates and US highways. I like going to places like the mall, pet stores, restaurants/sports pubs, movies and sometimes just to the stores to walk around.
I am the farthest thing from a bar fly and would perfer to stay home and watch a movie/play cards, watch a ball game, go to an arcade or go to the gym on a Friday and Saturday night. That being said I do enjoy going to a sports pub once in a while.
I am a sci fi junkie and enjoy some action movies as well. Some of my favorite movies would be Star Wars, Star Trek, Terminator, Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, James Bond etc... I am not opposed to watching others but those are my favorites. I really like just laying on the couch watching movies along with my very active side.
I grew up in a home zoo with several cats, dogs, fish, birds, hamsters, gerbils and newts. I was raised to love animals as if they were my family and they are. One of my cats from childhood is still alive and kicking at 25 years of age.
I use technology quite a bit, even though I don't have a cell phone, and use it for convenience. I read the paper and news online, watch TV shows and some movies online, play games on yahoo games (Dominos, Euchre, Hearts, Spades, Cribbage etc...). I figure with this much use of technology why not join myspace.
