Music, books, movies, sports (triathlon, swimming, basketball, water polo, tennis).I like playing guitar, but I'm just a little too lazy to get any good. I get to the point where I know I could learn the song, and that's where it ends... So, I know a whole bunch of 20 second clips.I'm into this whole phenomenon of online social networking, partly because I wish I could connect and reconnect with friends in one place (this site isn't exactly doing the trick), but also because I've tried to start sites like this one. Like my own first failed venture, these sites don't yet create true communities. What's missing with all of these tools?
See above - great people. Ya know how with most new introductions you can tell within 10 minutes if that person has that certain spark, the spark from which you know that this person can and will positively influence you if you let them? Yeah, I wanna meet those type people...
I like nearly all genres. Current favorites are Wilco, Spoon, Ryan Adams, Mink Lungs, Brendan Benson, The Black Keys, Turin Brakes. All time favorites: Gomez, Led Zepplin, The Smiths, Moe, Guster, Public Enemy. There are soooo many more bands to list, but my brain is finally shutting down, so this will have to do.
Garden State, Amelie, Tombstone, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Gene Wilder version), Old School, The Third Man, Serpico, Say Anything, Trading Places ("it ain't no jive bein no turkey so close to Thanksgiving"), and bunch of others I can't remember.
The Great Space Coaster? Anyone? No, really though, Family Guy, Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother (I know, not the cool pick), Magnum PI (lunchtime on the SuperStation yo!), Sealab 2021, Power Lunch (until it interferes with Magnum), Alias (damn the cancellation!), The Office, Deadwood, and Entourage. Oh yeah, and everyone's favorite pick, Lost (it is pretty damn good).
Atlas Shrugged might be the best book ever written. Irvine Welsh is great too. Middlesex, The Dante Club, Million Little Pieces, Swimming to Antarctica, and just about all of David Sedaris' stuff have been good recent reads.
Those who act instead of talk, those who enlighten, those who stay true to their convictions, and those who express thoughts and opinions based on their own deductive reasoning, not someone else's crap.
