Born Wayne Lyons (Bamboo) in Franklin, LA Oct.14, 1985, grew up around Mafia Insane Vice Lords and fell into the people’s nation head first. He quickly began to rise in the ranks at the age of 11 he became a sergeant in the Vice Lord Nation, his daily involvement in gang activities forced his mother to relocate to SW Houston, TX. In high school he developed a passion to express himself outside of gang violence. He is very versatile in his delivery through his experiences as a young “banger†he has a lot to vent on beats. After moving from apartment to apartment and school to school he finally found a home at Alief Taylor High School, here is where he was introduced to freestyle rapping, at the mere age of 16 he was well known and often requested to freestyle during lunches and school events. With the influence he formed musically at school he started to save his lunch money to pay for studio time. His first recorded production was a Beatsmith Production, by a local producer Crumb, this single “Welcome to my City†established him as a true talent to blossom in the rap industry. Even though he had found a way to vent and a place to record he was still trapped in the gang life, not looking for a way out but a way to better his nation, with his school and gang influence through JU Entertainment and promotions he was able to do little shows for high school parties. At the age of 18 he was signed to Da Deal Entertainment home of the great radio DJ, DJ White Mike here he developed himself as an artist being featured on a number of underground mixtapes, he was said to make those mixtapes sale. Out at all times of the night rarely sleeping selling an estimated 200 mixtapes by hand weekly at school, clubs, parties, events, shopping centers, and malls. His will to make it is what sets him aside from others in the music industry. He has a never say die attitude, he is said to be legendry in the streets of Houston and is now looking to be seen as more then just a gang leader he wants to be seen as a motivator. But without backing from his label he dropped his first solo mixtape album “SW Mixtape Vol.1†and pushed 2000 copies hand to hand, this set him apart from others his age. This got him a position on the West Mob Records roster as a solo rap artist and ghost writer, but shortly after his signing he was shot down on Feb. 20, 2006, and dropped from his label by a now scared C.E.O. But Bamboo never gave up while in ICU he was told he would never walk again, but nothing stopped him even in a wheelchair he still writes and records from the heart, and through intensive physical therapy it will only be a short time before he is walking and rocking stages. From the gang life to a well respected member of his community he is one of the only artist to move over 30,000 mixtapes hand to hand and to develop a very spread fan base. With fans as far as Miami, FLA requesting mixtapes via email or download, through marketing himself on underground music websites and underground radio stations he has become one of the only artists to promptly rise with his music and not lose his street credit. At only 21 he has seen and done more then most artists rap about but has taken his life experiences and channeled them into music that sales.
