I live in Birmingham now, since I moved here to be a researcher at Aston Uni. I'm a doctor! Not a proper one, but a PhD. Still, looks cool when written down, which was my main motivation in the extra 3 odd years of study. My new job involves making polymer microspheres, which is surprisingly interesting some days.Keeps me out of mischief anyway...
My only hobby to speak of (if you can't count TV, pubs, books etc...) is writing songs and playing in bands. I used to be the bass player in a band called My Dark Empire with my friends Toby and Mike. We were amazing (in my head at the very least). Those days are over now, but it was lots of fun and I met some excellent band type people like The Siegfried Sassoon, who are still going strong in and around Chertsey. After that I briefly dabbled in solo material as The Infinite Abyss, with the help of my friend George and partially fulfilled my musical ambitions to rip off Ben Gibbard wherever possible. I'm currently in a band called Porpoise with some friendly fellows from Stourbridge.
