Hi! My name's Robby. I'm an easy-going, fun loving guy who gets along with everyone I meet. I've been described as sort of half-hippie, half-hillbilly (that's a libra for ya!)...I'm originally from Sapulpa, Oklahoma. I moved to California about 6 years ago, but i'm currently working as an over-the-road truck driver so home is where the truck parks for now. I've been on the road for a year, and I've been in every continental US state except DC, Michigan, and Maine. I spend most of my time on the road listening to the news, or sometimes i'll grab an audiobook that looks good. I enjoy all types of music - mostly listen to rock (new and old). One of my best friends in my home town recently won the international blues contest in memphis, TN as a solo act(he's a total badass, but very humble). I also like old 80's music, some rap, some country, really i can appreciate any music that's melodical. I used to sing in my church choir and at school. I'm also a former trumpet player. If I hadn't become concerned with 'image' and started smoking in high school, I probably could have had a music career...I'm planning on quitting this job towards the end of August to help my dad take care of my terminally ill sisters & mom, who have muscular dystrophy. My son's mom told me i could have custody for a while too which will be cool. Little Rob is 6 and he's the sweetest kid ever! I'm currently looking for a local job in the modesto, ca area. I'll probably end up in some sort of driving position, or I might end up back in the customer service industry (I miss human contact!), but what I'd really like to do is renew my cannabis card, start(legally)growing again, and go back to college. I've done nearly every drug you can name, and i find it ironic that the only one I can't seem to quit for more than a week is tobacco - I really want to quit, but it's been impossible since i drive for a living and there's really nothing else to do. Don't be misled by this last statement. I don't take drugs, just weed. I believe Americans are generally overmedicated. Pharmecutical companies convince people they need pills when usually there's a natural alternative...In my spare time I enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, helping things grow, keeping up with current events, smokin reefer and contemplating matters of importance. I don't watch a lot of TV (damn propaganda box)... When I do it's usually either something educational, or rediculously comedic. I can't stand 'reality TV'...Vanity is not a quality I possess. I don't indulge in many frivolous things... I buy my clothes from thrift stores for the most part. I've been wearing the same pair of 'vans' that somebody gave me for about 2 years... Unlike most people in California I'm not concerned with outdoing everyone else. I don't want a giant stucco house, or a hummer. I don't get caught up in things that don't matter, and I beleive honesty is very important. All I really want out of life is to learn as much as I can and help more than I hurt while I'm here...As for religion, I beleive there is a higher power that directed the creation of life as we know it (call it what you want), and I believe in kharma. I was raised mormon (They're some hardcore christians), but I don't go to church any more. I beleive that organized religion is fundamentally flawed because no one set of rules can be applied to everyone.Eventually I hope to be self-sufficient and as 'off the grid' as possible - on a little piece of land (preferably with drinkable well water and an independent power source), with a few animals and good sized garden. The simple life - the way mankind was meant to live, I think... It may never happen, but I can dream, can't I??
