About Me

Video of the Week
Jack White being awesome in the Dead Weather's video for "I Cut Like A Buffalo." Jack White directed this one shot video, but the real beauty is him. Watch him move about, so simple yet so fun to watch. Love this guy.

Amico migliore. That's Italian for best friend. Why is that relevant? Because I happen to know that Bret Baber is hopelessly and utterly in love with all things Italian. I know this because he's my best friend. I know many many things about him. For example, I know that he used to follow a homeless man (who oddly enough had a home) through the streets of Mayville as a youngster. And on roller blades, no less. I also know that he loves to take walks through the pines or down the desolate dirt roads that lie in the boundaries of Fostoria, MI. The point of knowing all this, is that the very essence of Mr. Bret Baber lies not within the definition of words such as kind, funny, or unique. And while he is all of those things, the essence of who he is can only really be described through a personal connection with him. Be it a memory, a story heard or told, or a deep feeling for him. And I am lucky enough to have many. And chances are, so do you. We should all be grateful for these personalized post cards constantly being sent, delivered, saved, and cherished. You see, it isnt common in our world to know someone who is, for lack of a better word, genuine. And I can't think of anyone who is more genuine than Bret Baber. His passions are spread amongst a varying array of subjects and categories... although the first that comes to mind is his love for music. Good music. Real music as he would say. In the walks I mentioned before, it isnt uncommon for him to be sporting a pair of headphones, soaking in the sounds of Nirvana, silverchair, The White Stripes, Radiohead, or Placebo. And I believe that its this deep affection towards melodies that Bret spawned a series of ethics and beliefs that influence his every day life. Things like love, sadness, and that infinite multitude of colorful emotions in between. Another passion of his that immediately comes to mind is that of the sport of soccer. Lets face it, the guy was born to play it. And whether or not he wants to admit to it, he truly could have become a star. When hes not talking about it or watching it on TV, he finds any time he can to play in a drop-in game. His knowledge of the game and all things related goes unmatched. His dedication to the sport will always be a major part of him. And yet another great passion of Bret's is that of the pen. Or pencil. His writings will be found many generations from now, and will become the basis of creating a better world and a better existence for all humanity. But really, when all is said and done, I believe its his devotion towards those he loves and cares about that really helps define his character. I cant think of a time he wasn't there to listen, or to give a pat on the back. He's always done what he can to help, and never does he expect anything back. He's without a doubt the best friend I will ever have, and it really says something about a guy when many people make the exact same claim. He's the best friend of many, and rightly so. So a tip of the hat to you, Bret Edward Baber. You're one of the very few bright spots in a world drenched in darkness and sorrow. I love you.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I've got really great friends, and I've got many more that haven't graced my top friends list. When it comes to famous people, I'd mainly like to meet my favourite bands, soccer players, and big Hollywood names like Johnny Depp, Quentin Tarantino, Joss Whedon, etc... It's always nice to talk to people that enjoy Nirvana, silverchair, The White Stripes, Placebo, Bright Eyes, Radiohead, Hole, the Raconteurs, the Dissociatives and any other band that I like as long as they're smart about it. Fellow FIFA players as well, and anyone that loves Milan. I'd just love to talk about why these things are A+ with people. Friends that I have lost, not because of me being a jerk, but because I just never see them anymore. Al the Alien. I've already met a super cutie, so scratch finding "the most gorgeous girl in the world" off of my list, because I've already checked that.

Anyone who can help me tame this wild beast!

The White's: Jack and Meg

All of these champs.

Daniel Johns, silverchair/the Dissociatives main maestro.
