Awethu

I am here for Networking

About Me

Awethu is a word from South Afraka which means 'to the people.' It is the response given (especially during apartheid) when someone would call out 'AMANDLA!' which means power. This culture arts venue is the only of its kind in Ft. Lauderdale, featuring poets, emcees, singers, dancers, visual artists and more that all represent the beauty and lives of Afrakan people throughout the diaspora. We welcome all speakers hearers creators lovers and doers of art. Libation and drumming begins @ 9:00. $5 cover.
