Hi…my name is Lauren Amaris Barnes also knows as Lauren Barnes or LAB and I’m a Singer/Songwriter/Model/Actress born and raised in Chicago now living in the amazing, big apple NYC. Ok, now that we got the small-talk version of me out of the way, let’s delve a bit deeper.First and foremost, I’m a God loving individual, so if I love God that means I love you. And a close second to my spirituality is my silliness…which pretty much means I’m the silliest person I know. You see, when you’ve been through a lot it teaches you how to really laugh. And I’m not talking a “hehe†kind of laugh. I’m talking that “head cocked back, rolling on the floor with your mouth wide open and nothing comes out†kind of laugh. Yep, that’s the kind of silly I do (as you can see, I don’t take myself too seriously…I leave that up to the boring people).And when I’m not on the floor cracking myself up, I tend to be really laid-back. The laid-back where I just sit under a tree, listen to some great jazz and write some inspired songs of my own. You know, just kicking back and giving drama the Heisman. But don’t get it twisted, just because I know how to find my Chi doesn’t mean I’m a wall-flower. There’s a nuclear power plant of energy brewing in my soul that shines through my eyes. Those around me can more than vouch for this.I can also be a mother figure at times (or more like a MILF figure). I am just a nurturing spirit that way. I guess I think of myself as an old soul and very spiritual. And not just because I was raised in church and my dad is a preacher (thanks Dad for introducing me to God). My relationship with God truly started to take off in the darkest chapters of my life when he never left my side.I guess what it all boils down to is I love life and I love people, especially the ones who love themselves.
