About Me

You might remember me. I used to be all up on here until I deleted my account some time back because I thought I would be spending the rest of my days far below the surface of the earth, warmed by the soft rays of the inner-sun. Of course I'm talking about our Hollow Earth. (http://www.ourhollowearth.com/) Those guys in there have really got it figured out. But don't lend those giants any money. They're real good about making themselves scarce when they want to .............................I'm all about simple pleasures. Whether it's seeing the "coolest guy in Dallas" rolling through my hood (Eccentric gentleman wearing argyle knee-socks, British Bobbies helmet, shorts, and handlebar moustache atop an antique and very tall bicycle with the really big wheel in front and a little one in the rear. [It's called a Hiwheel, Penny-Farthing, or Boneshaker.] In fact, here he his...), or spraying warm beer on Emo kids I do it with gusto, you betcha! Please bear in mind that there is nary a radio station, on-line or otherwise, that I will endorse for 24/7 listening but if you like an eclectic mix do yourself a favor and listen to New Jersey's legendary WFMU via http://www.wfmu.org/................ Something for everyone who likes good(and often weird) music!!But if you need to get a "Twang" fix you might like: http://www.khyi.com/index.cfmor 95.3 fm in Dallas. And you should also check out Soul 73 otherwise known as 730 am in Dallas...You've got a friend!----- If you want to feel like the coolest senior citizen in town check out 770 am a few clicks to the right, and if you're up in the middle of the night you can go to 570 am and listen to either Art Bell/Coast to Coast paranormal stuff or some hard-right or hard-left political stuff.-----KNON 89.3 fm has some great shows too, but who can ever remember when those are on?-----I think Lone Star 92.5 has potential but they need to stop trying to please everyone, namely the burn-outs that still want to hear the same classic schlock that's been played since time began. I think we're all-too-familiar with the finer points of the Marshall Tucker Band at this point.

My Blog

I take back what I said about "The Dead"...

I don't really even dislike them after re-evaluting them at this point in history, except for the "jammy" bits that go on for eeeeeeeeeeeeeever. But there are 2 things I will not abide: 1. Deadheads2....

"Wait" and King of Kong!

I saw the movie King of Kong last night about the world's two best Donkey Kong players and I can't recommend it enough. Hilarious, Bizarre, and very well-edited. In other news: I've been pretty burnt ...

A quick comment about my photos.

I've noticed there are a disproportionate amount of photos of me with a guitar, or wearing a hat on my profile. I don't wear hats often these days, but I do play my guitar more than I used to. I'm not...

Why I don't like the Grateful Dead.

I think it all started with WKRP in Cincinatti. Howard Hessman's character "Dr. Johnny Fever" was a rough-and-tumble DJ that exuded a burnt-out, been there/done that vibe. He frequently sported black,...

I like Deerhoof!

Yes, it's true. Now they won't be making my all-important, ever-changing, and far-too-long list of bands anytime soon but I do tend to like more of their songs than hate them. And I DO hate some of th...

Musical Disclaimer Part II, for God's sake!?

Since I'm really writing this for myself and a handful of poor-unfortunates(much like my "real" blog) I've got more to add to this all-important topic. Oddly enough, the internet has been a huge influ...
