moodpack recordings, located in frankfurt germany, is composed of an upcoming and stark pushing production team as well as DJ crews ranging in sounds from drum n bass to hip hop to experimental to big beat. we are here to bring forthcoming dj-solo and tag teams such as djrome, djtanyel, imcyber and kubatko. not to mention our liquid soothers such as florian stossberg, sticious and brooklyn a.k.a juanita juarez who is the latest addition to our pack. these musicians are leaders in the all-natural sound. georgie weeratunga is still on the ruff end coming on harder than ever before whilst his brother lee weeratunga breaks out sweet lyrical rhymes that sooth your soul and make you wanna shake what your mama gave you. so keep dem ears alert and eyes peeled for what the future of moodpack recordings will release onto this world!
who are we?
we are not just addressing musicians, but graphic artists, filmmakers, song and copywriters as well as other creative peeps who move outside the mainstream. we embrace creative souls who consciously or subconsciously are working against the spiritual breakdown of our fast living pop culture. do you have what it takes to be a moodpack member .
how did it start?
a few of us met working side by side in separate studios in 2000. banging away one side on synth's and drum machines as the other side produced crisp acoustic drums alongside a fine blend of guitar movements. aawww - d words d words... eventually we started to setup the same bpm and joked around with "wall to wall" killerbeatsessions. this eventually merged into what we are doing now.
what's our goal?
revolution is the fundamental most abrupt transformation of existing circumstances. this definition reflects the exact intention of moodpack recordings and our objective moving forward. under a common name, all like-minded artists would find a place here to grow and live out their calling. a platform for all their beautiful and wonderful ideas to be heard which otherwise would fall through cracks of the net or be judged as not trendy enough - seen as unprofitable. with the help of our web pages we intend to break down the current predominance in pseudo music industry regulation. to those people that look at music only in business terms in their clichéd world of excel profit and balance sheets, moodpack recordings will demonstrate that there are talented people out there who love rhythm and whose work is not guided by any trend or commercial influences. we are guided by our musical souls and driven minds.
moodpack recordings are passionate fans of drum 'n' bass, a musical style that is very often misjudged and has never really been accepted by mainstream labels. naturally we will continue to push this style and encourage its producers to break new ground whilst breakin bigger beats and present their sounds to the public. so fuck all you haters!!! in accordance with our philosophy we will also include artists of other musical styles with innovative potential in our project. just to make sure we are not misunderstood: we are not a charity nor are we a musicians social club for unsuccessful artists!
