I'm 5 foot 9 and have two arms and two legs. I also have a nose, eyes (two) and a mouth (just the one).
I really like languages and travel. Learning to speak a new language (even if its just a few words!) gives me a real buzz. I came to Sheffield a year ago to study for a masters in Transltion Studies (Russian/English), which I finished at the start of September. I'm looking for a job in translation now but I don't want to move from here because I like it so much! I'm currently working in an office just outside the city centre. Nothing to do with languages, but not a bad job. I'm hoping that I'll get enough freelance work to be able to go part-time eventually.Before I came to Sheffield I lived in St. Petersburg in Russia, where I taught English. It was great fun and an amazing and beautiful city to live in... just bloody freezing in winter! Russia and all things Russian are a big passion of mine. I learnt Russian from scratch for my BA degree at Nottingham and have been really lucky to be able to go to Russia several times. I also spent a few weeks in the Ukraine the summer before starting my masters, which was super. I've managed to travel a lot around Russia, but St. Petersburg is my favourite place. I'll soon be going back though, for my friend Rebecca's wedding! I last went to Russia in April with my friend Naill after we did a sponsored hitch-hike from Sheffield to Riga.
