About Me

Fester is an adventurer in an old Hollywood B-movie world..... He drifts into smokey Paris jazz clubs....or he's swingin to Duke in New York's Cotton Club ... That's him in the shadows on a balmy night on a boat off Montevideo, a shady deal as the sound of muffled congas, piano and laughter waft from the shore...Next scene Havana - the swaying palms and the scent of the night air....heavy Rumba... a betrayal, a Cuban jail.....Escape on a boat to a sunset beach bar in Trinidad, a smile from a native peach and an old Calypso....... And a happy ending (yeah!).....which means he survives to become truly, a crooner for our times!Fester is a traveler in the real world too. These days his alter ego is often in Paris and London on sax with the very cool Medi and the Medicine Show (see top friends!) ....Check out Hell's Cabaret too (top friends) - Fester's Gothic Dark Side (yikes!!) - where he investigates the aesthetics of horror music - perfect backing for your hallowe'en party/occult gathering/sacrifice of a virgin/acid trip, etc. - come out the back and I'll sell you one, tax free if you pay cash ... let's go over there where it's dark and no one can see.... Fester has also co-written a book - a comic romance based on a life time of romantic adventure, all building to a gripping climax...... anybody else interested in buying that? The previous customer is indisposed, that's all. Yeah, that's right, stand just there, in the shadows.....

Influences: Old Hollywood goes to the tropics (esp. "Lady from Shanghai"/"To Have and Have Not"), 60's/70's TV themes, Funky 60's Blue Note Jazz recordings, old Trinidadian Calypso - Lord Invader, Roaring Lion, Mighty Sparrow. Also Rat Pack, Mark Bouchard, Bobby Darrin, Mel Torme, Louis Jordan, De Phazz, Hoagy Carmichael, Serge Gainsbourg, Tom Waits, Chet Baker, Stray Cats, Old Jamaican Ska, Duke, Miles and all the jazz greats. There's a lot more music that I'd like to mention, but not really an influence on my output so far, so this'll have to do!
