About Me

Stevie’s roots as a solo performer were laid down some 15 years ago busking and playing floor spots at local folk clubs - an influence that still comes across in his music. In the early 90s he spent two years in Germany, extensively gigging - mainly on the Irish Music Pub circuit - as one half of folk/rock duo Acres Wild. Playing original material alongside a wide range of covers they built up a good reputation as a solid live act and the experience provided him with a wealth of inspiration (and hangovers). On return to his native Northants Stevie continued to write songs and perform live, both as a solo artist and with the acoustic combo, Treehouse. He has appeared on the same bill as Martin Stephenson, Damien Dempsey, Paddy Casey, Ezio and Nick Harper. Recent trips over to Ireland have also seen him play regular gigs with Irish duo Reverie in Kilkenny and Dublin. His powerful and original acoustic-based songs are always delivered straight from the heart, with influences touching Van Morrison, Counting Crows, The Waterboys, early David Gray, Folk, Rock, and much more. A passionate live performer he is joined on stage by the awesome guitar skills of Mark Gill, who features on the debut album, ‘New Life’. Recorded at Hotrock Studios in Northampton the stunning 10-track CD also features other top local musicians including Tiny Vango (keyboards), Tim Harrison (Bass) and Paul De Gallier (Drums). The album has gained good reviews and positive press/radio coverage with interviews on BBC Radio Leicester and BBC Radio Northampton, where the track 'Million Miles' was voted to number two in The Weekender listeners' chart. Summer 2006 saw Stevie and Mark share the bill with the likes of the Levellers, Seth Lakeman and Nizlopi at The Big Session Festival in Leicester plus two club tent appearances at Cambridge Folk Festival. The duo returned to play again at Big Session 2007 with the prime slot of 5pm on the Orange Tree Stage and launched their DVD 'Live at The Musician' on Sept 11th at the Leicester venue and released an all acoustic download album 'Weather The Storm'. 2008 will be an exciting year with the Stevie and Mark continuing to host showcases at Sawyers, Kettering and Olives,Leicester with various tour dates getting lined up - including a spot at Summer Sundae 2008 already confirmedCLICK HERE TO GO TO THE SHOP (CDS, DVDS, DOWNLOADS)
