I moved to Brighton to play more music and I've not looked back. I've had a varied musical career here right from the off and along the way I've met some really amazing musicians (including Eddie Myer) and been in some great bands. I am a singer/songwriter at heart so at the centre of my workis my voice and guitar. At the end of the day I think you know you've got a strong song if you can stand up with just you and your guitar and play it. I love performing live and sometimes it's great just to play solo and expose the bare bones of the song.
Over the years we've built up a home studio and this is where I've been recording my debut album 'Heart Sails'. It has taken me a lot longer than anticipated to get it finished, but as I've been recording I've been experimenting and developing my sound. Along the way I've suddenly found myself writing string arrangements, playing piano and getting into production and mixing which has really opened up my ears and now there's no turning back! Its been wonderful to bring greater musical depth to the songs by working with other musicians and I've been lucky enough to have some very talented ones on hand. My biggest thanks has to be Eddie who has been there all the way through playing some mean double bass and lead guitar, engineering my vocal takes, coming up with zany production ideas and supporting me through those dark times when I'd lost all faith.
Many thanks to the following musicians for their contribution to my album, remixes and live work. Eddie Myer, Dil Davies, Tristan Banks, Rob Allum, Jamie Morrisson, Ben Sarfas, Rob Lewis, Adrian Oxaal, Alice Eldridge, Stephen Wolf, Lucy Taylor, Sarah Haridra, Sara Khoroosi, Phil Marten, Jo Struthers, Victor Malloy, Daniel Paul, Deyampert Giles, Mick Feltham, Lumen Studios. Also many thanks to Glenn Ward (original artwork), Bobby Galloway(graphics) & Jacqui McSweeney (photography), Axel, Raschad and Jacob for their work on the 'Santiago Sands' video.
Heart Sails is finished. I will be making it available for sale through my web site & downloads & in local shops in Brighton.
