Guerilla Mind Society is an unpredictable metal band from Seattle, Wa. They are the bridge between melody and moshpit. The music goes down dark and schizophrenic turns to arrive at their intense and moving sound.
GMS draws the suffering of the world into their music, which allows for an endless stream of muse and ideas. They are two Americans and two Japanese, and through a grassroots mentality, a fierce muscial onslaught is created.
The band is very pre-occupied with being driven to newer, different and more intense variations on their style. They don’t cater to the cliché and predictable. GMS believes that they can affect real change by being real people. They are as real as their music, and only pause on small successes to reflect and always look to the next challenge. They believe their music reflects their world, and GMS is the town crier and their on their soapbox.
GMS is Ryan Trees – Vocals/Rhythm Guitar. Kokoro and Shou Yanagita (brother & sister) Bass, and Lead Guitar, and Dustin Cassidy on drums. The band was formed in 2000 by Shou and Ryan. They finalized their lineup permanently in July of 2006, with Dustin joining the band.
GMS is overly passionate about their survival, as they have struggled through years with out shows, any new songs, lack of members, travel visa issues, and all members continuing college through the bands tenure.
The band is ever thankful for its current touring success, and its continued existence into the future. GMS looks to the long term, and is currently supporting its two releases. The three song demo “Guerilla Mind”, and the five song “Bushido” EP. GMS has gone past the stage of its local city, and its local state, and has moved on to other nations.
They will embark on their second Japanese Tour “Rebel is as Rebel Does!!”, in October, which is the second, following up last summers “Bushido” tour to Japan.
This independent band currently has no official endorsements, or commercial support and are making it happen on their very own.
