This Page is set up for networking and to help with my music career.Born in Nevada raised in Mississippi, Danny Pettway better known as O' Yella has been in his music for years. Born Dec. 11, 1984 he was musically inclined as a child. He also got his name from being the most light skinned person on the block. Writing his first song in the 4th Grade he began doing school talent shows and always was active in sports. He loved that attention from his peers. The older he got, he became more serious with his music. After his 8th Grade year he cut his first album with this local group out of Belzoni, Mississippi. Yella's step father was there manager and they were in the studio and than Danny started rapping for them so they put him on some songs after that. O' Yella purchased a small ZOOM beat machine and started doing his own thing. Because alot of people wouldn't take him serious and plus he didn't really have the money to buy beats from all the producers from Memphis to Mississippi. Yella began hustling to save money to get his own studio equipment. At the age of 17 he formed a group with his adopted brother Pimp. Called Crooked Letta Mafia. They began working on the album, but Pimp started a family and moved away. Though Yella's brother was gone guys from every hood from different gangs all came to Yella to do music. Yella didn't care as long as he was bringing guys together that never hung out was cool to him. Soon the streets of Yazoo City new about this young man that everyone is coming for to do music. That summer he than work with a local record company and he learned alot from thst company. That summer Yella made 5 beats a day and after 2 months he had over 250 beats. Yella than left the company to go to college to weld. While stuggling through college his step father helped him out a great deal. Yella was staying with his cousin who also became a member of the group after serving 4 years in prison. Pimp moved back and we felt alot stronger. All of the sudden C.L.M. had the city on lock, doing 2 to 3 shows a week. All of the guys in the group had a girlriend. Yella's was a couple months preagnant. Hollywood's was to and Pimp had a daughter. Everyone was struggling with money to support the group so the group slowly died. We had families to take care of so Pimp moved to Texas. Yella got a job offer in Nevada and Hollywood stayed. Now after Yella's son being born he is back at the music in full force. Making noise through Nevada and California. O' Yella's music is base on what goes on in his life and stuff that people can bounce to. Mississippi has played a big part in Yella's life and he represents it everywhere he goes.
