About Me


John West was born and raised in Tupelo, MS.
Music has always been a part of his life. He's been in school and church choirs, played snaredrum with the Tupelo High School Drumline, drumset in a two piece band with his brother, bass guitar in an all original band, and he even wrote a few songs (mostly rap songs) to experiment with home recording. This was all during his middle and high school years. This was also the time when he became interested in poetry, and listening to music like a junky.
He bought his first guitar the summer after his senior year of high school. He began writing and playing his songs at a coffee shop in Booneville, MS where he was attending college. Let's just say... school was not his number one priority and so after one year, he dropped out.
It's been several years now and he's been putting a lot of time and thought into making his dream sound come true. He has high hopes that it will all pay off in the end. Money or no money.
He is currently working with a bass player and lead guitarist, to record and perform his original works. They are also looking for a drummer and maybe someone to play keys. The band doesn't have a name yet, but the songs are tied together with a title John has had in mind for years... "Populated Senses".
