As for the bright lights and silver screens, JonLAMP made his film debut during the 1995 full production music video for an early recording titled, "wutchya got", which was included in a press kit for SESH, his Bronx based rap group. That actual song never made it to their debut album but was influential in his quest to marry video to audio. Later, LAMP appeared in a movie called "Boricua's Bond", which starred BigPun, and was quickly ushered into the obscure film world surrounding hip hop culture. After a few independent ventures such as the full length graffiti documentary "Sick Wit it" and music videos like the one above titled "NotRedy", LAMP still looks forward to making more waves in the field by combining his interests in hip hop and the film world- and the latest is his involvement with Loaded Language. Keep readin..
Check the clip below- 'Endless Knot', a short film made by Loaded Language Studios in association with Scion Toyota. JonLAMP participated as Production Assistant during film shoots and made another impact on the film world with this cult classic which stars underground rap legend Thirstin Howl III, of MTV's Lyricist Lounge. The movie won best short film at the Scion FIlm Festival and the clip below is a great fight scene from the movie.
As for all this stuff you see me involved with..
when you see me in the streets...
Yo- I been doin this for over a decade- I continue to give the world a piece of my mind, a stroke of my art, a voice for the unheard, for all those who never got to rock, never held a mic, never saw their talent come to life, MUCH REPSECT, ALWAYS. Its a hard road to travel, an avalanche to handle, a complicated mess to unravel. An artist's life is not to be envied, but the experiences and fruits of that life tell the tale of how deep their struggle is and- the clear truth- nothing in life is easy. I been signed to a label, released records independently, and of all the people I met- most were only out for themselves. I honor those who put the artist first, and I hope the young artists remember industry rule number 4080, dont forget your lessons. Stay up and keep breathin.
