Do you like Japanese and Asian Pop? Tune in Tokyo is a J-Pop & Global Dance DJ unit established in 2008, with monthly club events in the Los Angeles area. Our team spins the best in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, and global dance beats, including cutting edge Indie and Electro from across the world.
Additionally, we have provided DJs for record releases, retail launch parties, and other special events, and have organized shows for artists such as Satsuki, Moon Kana, and LA's Dig Jelly.
We also provide promotional and logistical support for Japanese artists visiting Los Angeles, and offer graphic design, street team, and online marketing services. We have provided local promotional assistance to the Japan Nite tour, and artists such as Miyavi and Chatmonchy.
We enthusiastically support Japanese and Asian pop music and fashion in the Los Angeles area. Our blog features updates on upcoming shows and events. If we hear about something cool coming your way, we'll let you know!
On Thursday, August 19th during Nisei Week, Tune in Tokyo presents "Sakura Bomb", a showcase featuring a great lineup of Japanese-flavored rock, punk, and electro!
The event will be anchored by LA's own Lemon Drop Kick, a heavy-hitting hybrid of American and Jrock sound, fronted by Japanese singer Miyako! They'll be joined by eclectic band Keshiki, straight from Japan, along with American J-Pop singing sensation and AX Idol winner Stephanie Yanez, and Indie-Electro act Nightmares for Robots, at Little Tokyo's premiere destination for live music!
Sakura Bomb runs from 8 PM - 2 AM, ages 18+ will be admitted. There is a $10 cover (this includes a drink ticket worth $5 at the bar, ID policy will be strictly enforced. Sodas and non-alcoholic drinks are available). 2nd Street Jazz is located at 366 E 2nd Street, Los Angeles, California (corner of 2nd and Central in Little Tokyo). There is plenty parking available, but please make sure to check garage hours and street parking signs. We also suggest, with safety in mind, that you restrict your parking to north of 3rd street.
