For most generations, music had evolved in such rapid progression that creativity seemed to spring up everywhere. This evolution of music brought unimaginable inspiration to the ones that would one day be idolized themselves. Bands were thinking outside the box, and some even created their own genres. It seemed musicians started to realize that music was, in fact, infinite. Anything was, and still is, possible. And that's where Chubfarm comes in. Formed in 2003, Chubfarm set their goals to be nothing but original. Fed up with pre-planned song structures, catchy choruses, and basic songwriting guidelines, Chubfarm set out to set music back on its ever evolving path. With influences ranging from Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Rush to Meshuggah, Korn, and Candiria, Chubfarm is definitely fans of leaders of music, not followers. As a concrete fanbase quickly launched Chubfarm into local popularity, people soon realized that they were not the typical "metal" band. This is very evident off their 2004 release of "And Sometimes.... Wh(y)" (Red-Room Records). From extremely complex and emotional songs of " 6'40'' and "Gobob", to sidesplittingly funny "Face" and a cover of Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer", Chubfarm proved to the Ohio, Indiana, Michigan area that they are, if anything, original. With an extensive touring schedule, radio interviews, independent film spots, and indie label compilation cd's, Chubfarm is always fan oriented, never turning down anyone, and never shy of a good time. Currently working with renowned producer/engineer Joe Viers, Chubfarm is set to independently release their upcoming second cd. Promised to be everything you wouldn't expect, which is exactly what you should expect from Chubfarm. This album is poised to be more intense, more chaotic, and more thought consuming than anyone would ever expect from some guys from a small Ohio town, but that's what they do best. Forever evolving. As the path of music once was, and should be.
