Welcome to the TriDot myspace. Cory Smith aka TriDot has been called to the ministry to proclaim the Gospel of Christ but by no means has this been an easy road. Early in life, TriDot spent much of his childhood in the violence-riddled urban areas of East Saint Louis, Illinois where he maintained as normal a childhood as he could through his family problems and living situations. Later in life, he came to be gripped by the pleasures of a secular life as a teenager in southern California where he began to develop a secular music career. Shortly after beginning to chase dreams of fame and fortune through sin-filled music, low self-esteem and pains of life began to bear down on him so heavily that he considered suicide and may have went through with it if not for the intervention of Christ's Saving Grace. Now, after much struggle and restoration, TriDot has come to the place in Christ where he can answer the calling that God has set forth for him and he carries it into other lives. The mission of TriDot's music ministry is to spread the love and good news of Christ, but by no means is he trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes. Says TriDot, "I've never been phony with tha type of music I made, I'm just glad that God gave me the chance to keep that moving now that the message is right. Like alot of gospel rap, to me, has a 'holier than thou' type of feel to it...anybody can go through the ups and downs of a fall, lack of faith, past sinning ways, etc....you gotta realize that this music is supposed to relate so it can be a tool for God. In my eyes, music can be a powerful tool in testimony for salvation." Currently, TriDot remains unsigned, and despite many pushing for him to pursue record labels, he doesn't seem to be reaching that far ahead. "God makes no mistakes," says TriDot, "when He wills it to happen, then so shall it be." With a promising future on the horizon in music, (in addition to an upcoming Christian clothing line, leadership at his home church, and possibly starting a record label with fellow artist Ashes), TriDot is undoubtedly a true potential being made into an ends by the grace of God.
