About Me

..

I am a Christian, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, skiier, surfer, swimmer, camper, fisherman, singer, songwriter, guitarist, flakey, funny, Denver Bronco fan, IBEW journeyman electrician, well read, somewhat educated, overflowing cup of useless facts.

My Interests

My earthly interests are diverse and include first and foremost my lovely wife Jennifer and 3 kids, followed in no particular order by red meat, red wine, Spam musubi, Thai food, Italian food, sushi, BBQ, fish tacos, beer, writing tunes, noodling on my guitars, local So-Cal rock radio, surfing, skiing, riding my new Harley, our pool, the wave-runner, the beach, the mountains, etc...

by the way... I HATE GEORGE BUSH!!! He manipulates policy in the name of God for wealth and then a lot of people die and still nothing gets accomplished, what a jerk!!!

I'd like to meet:

Well there's Strong Bad, John Elway, Sammy Hagar, PeeWee Herman, and legendary surfer Skip Frye

Music:

I dig music. I go through phases. My parents took me to the symphony as a kid because a child's ticket was cheaper than a babysitter and now I enjoy classical music and going to the symphony. Thanks Ma & Pa. As a kid I took piano and accordian lessons and in my teens started playing bass (very poorly) in various jam sessions with friends. In my late 20's I actually learned how to play pretty okay and started playing more guitar than bass. I'm addicted to rock music and was really into heavy metal as a teen. Hair farmer, butt rocker... call it what you will, that was me. Once again, phases. I write my own songs and they're pretty mellow by comparison. I wrote each of my daughters their own lullabyes. I've been to Country Jam twice now and don't hate country the way I used to. I find it mostly annoying but like some. I like old school rap, NWA, Public Enemy, and Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. I hate most rap now, except for Eminem. I can't stand hip hop. I previously stated that "London Bridge by Fergie has to be the shittiest thing on the airwaves", but I was wrong. After listening to my son Zakk's radio station briefly I have come to the conclusion that there are lots of "shittiest things" on the radio. If you have the ability to listen to San Diego's 94.9 station then do it. That's what I'm listening to these days. They have a webpage at fm949sd.com and you can listen live. I have another MySpace page where you can listen to and download some music from my old bands and solo stuff.

Movies:

Warren Miller ski flicks are always a good time... "Steep and Deep" is a favorite! I can watch "Young Frankenstein" over and over. I like "The Shawshank Redemption" a lot too. I laughed my ass off watching "Just Friends" recently. I'm not really a movie guy, I sleep through most of them.

Oh yeah... "Happy Gilmore" shoulda won a friggin' Oscar!!! Know what I'm sayin'?

Television:

I loathe TV, but I will always and forever love The Simpsons, South Park and watching the awesome Denver Broncos!!!

Books:

Any "Calvin and Hobbes" book will have me laughing for hours. "A Moveable Feast" by Ernest Hemingway, "Strange New World" by Aldous Huxley, "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole, "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand, "Kim" by Rudyard Kipling, "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis, "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren and of course, "On the Road" by Jack Kereuac. By the way... "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown is way better than his other best seller "The DaVinci Code". I finished "High Fidelity" by Nick Hornby on May 1st. It was a really cool book. "Atheist Universe" by David Mills screwed with my head recently and "Darwin's Black Box" by Michael J. Behe was probably the hardest book I've ever read.

Heroes:

Sammy Hagar is cool. An athlete, a father, maker of tequila and mountain bikes, lives on Maui, owns a bar in Cabo and rocks out like no other. I think I wanna be him when I grow up. Him or the cute Beatle, either will do.
