Avoiding work like the plague and still coming off as successful. Video games. Green tea. Sushi. Music. Movies. Reading. Kickboxing. Hiking. Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do. Current Addiction: Board games (drunk Monopoly is the only way to play!). Fighting. For the right. To...I think the next line is "Cheeeeeez Whiz", but I could be wrong.
Anybody who can keep up with my sarcasm, geeky tendencies, and my ability to reference movies, music lyrics, or video games into every aspect of my life. Old school friends that want to reconnect. Random people.
This reads as randomly as the rest of the stuff on this page. But I like all types, so expect this section to be heavily edited, frequently. I guess I'll work on this by genre:Alt Rock / Indie: Weezer, Ben Kweller, Radish, The Impossibles, Slow Reader, The Get Up Kids, Reggie and the Full Effect, Death Cab for Cutie, Postal Service, Beck, Incubus, Motion City Soundtrack, Dismemberment Plan, Radiohead, The Killers, Prefuse 73, The John Mayer Trio, Gorillaz, Imogen Heap, Frou Frou, Venus Hum, NIN, The White Stripes, The Darkness, Yo La Tengo, NERD, Guster, Rilo Kiley, Panic! at the Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Gnarls Barkley, Red Hot Chili PeppersRock / Contemporary: Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, REM, U2, LiveClassic Rock / Funk: The Beatles, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Yardbirds, Faces / early Rod Stewart, The Who, Queen, Eagles, James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, The Fireside BluesRap / R&B: The Roots, Anthony Hamilton, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Blackstar, Common, Beastie Boys, MF Doom & Danger Mouse, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Pharell, Ludacris, Angie Stone, Jill ScottJazz: John Coltrane (I will beat anyone who can't appreciate A Love Supreme or Ascenscion), Charlie Parker, Art Blakey, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Charles Mingus, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones, Weather Report, Ornette Coleman, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Dean MartinClassical: Schoenberg, Bernstein, Ives, Britten, Bach, Stravinsky, Copland, Handel, Bruckner, Schumann, Palestrina...and I know there's tons more...
This is a section that, again, will be under constant revision. The whole signing up for Netflix thing is helping find a lot of otherwise unknown favorite / classic movies that I might not have been able to see. My all-time favorite movies include:The Goonies, Fight Club, Zoolander, Clerks, Old School, Rocky I-IV and now Rocky Balboa, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Neverending Story, Boondock Saints, The Life Aquatic, The Incredibles, the Indy Jones trilogy, Lost in Translation, and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Metropolis, Seven Samurai, Harikiri. We'll see if any new ones pop up in the months to come.
Best show ever? MTV's The StateThe faves: Lost, Scrubs, The Office, Family Guy, Futurama, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, The Venture Brothers, SeaLab 2021, South Park, Reno 911. You get the idea--all I've ever watched is Comedy Central and Adult Swim. Oh, and The Ultimate Fighter. That show rocks. In the meantime, we've become addicted to some reality TV...it's awful, I know. Most reality TV is for retards who can't live thier own lives, but at least the retards on Top Chef can cook pretty well.
Anything by JD Salinger, Chuck Palaniuk, Kurt Vonnegut, and Frank Herbert. Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.Encyclopedia Britannica, Vol. 9, 1987 ed. Always brings a tear to my eye when I read that one.
Kansas City, for not really being in Kansas. It must put up with a lot of ish for being an outsider.
