About Me

I'm a big fan of computers, comics, movies, camping, billiards and darts, (ie. big dumb nerd) and drinking with friends. I'm a guitar gear nerd and I can talk your ear off about the life of a roadie, bass & guitar repair, boutique amps and guitars, guitar building, and effects. I have too many guitars and guitar related things, but for some reason i want more -- one in each color too!
My kids: (L->R) Cedar/Mahogany Carvin 250S, Spruce/Rosewood Taylor 420, Custom Sunburst 70's style Strat, Custom Sunburst Tele, Custom Candy Apple Red 70's Strat, "Cherry Fudge" Ibanez 7421 7 string, Custom alder jazz bass, Horabe cedar/rosewood classical, Ruby Red PRS Rosewood McCarty.
I love local live music. I can't justify spending over $30 on a ticket to a show, so that's why local music is great. Same talented people (if not more talented), front row seats (or standing), and you can even talk to them.
My nickname is Spook. It's a long story that involves high school, gang violence, jail, and bitches. Don't ask or I'll have to shank you. :P
Me in the back in the day...
I'm a quiet guy in a local San Diego band, DividedByZero . I'm mellow offstage, but I like to rock out when on stage. Check us out at www.myspace.com/dividedbyzero . We play both loud hard rock music and mellow acoustic music.
Here's us playing live in Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach acoustically.
I also help out my fellow guitarist Jeremy in his acoustic reggae endeavor, "The Diamond Geezer" featuring members of Ghoulspoon and DividedByZero. We don't play that often but when we do it's a good thing.
Lastly, in late 2006 I joined up with Vocoder when their guitarist decided to leave for personal reasons. I was always a fan of their music and I was friends with the bassist. I had seen too many great local bands in San Diego stop playing or give up entirely when a member of the band left, so I decided this time I would do what I could to make sure that didn't happen with them.
Check out their music here: http://www.myspace.com/vocoder

Quebec Part Deux - the second snowstorm

Wouldn't it just be typical that the San Diegan who never visits the snow in California ever goes on a business trip to a place who has had the two worst snowstorms in their history. And wouldn't it j...

Quebec Part 1

So for those of you who didn't know, I left our moderately warm climate in San Diego for the rough below freezing post-winter of Quebec. Why? Well we have two newbies in our group at work who need to ...

Woodshop project number 2 (1-6-2007)

So originally the other woodshop project was going to be a replacement body for an Ibanez 7 string, but after consideration of when and if it would ever be played, I decided to use the project for a T...

I posted it during my stomach sickness phase--I thought it was classic.... "My buttpee smells like a dirty aquarium..." Not only does it give you a visual, but you can even imagine the smell and audio...

So I've been quite behind on my photo albums. In fact I totally skipped my photos of New Orleans to get these up. How inconsistent of me! Oh well. So anyway, we got this kick ass CD out. Here's th...
