The band takes standard tunes in all styles of music, creating their own unique arrangements, performing songs such as “I Love You More Today Than Yesterday”, Jobim’s “Meditation”, Nina Simone’s “My Baby Just Cares For Me” to Marvin Gaye’s “Got To Give It Up”. The sets consist of a combination of instrumental and vocal songs featuring Kimberly Mantz.SFV has been performing on the north shore of Boston over the past 3 months creating a buzz on the music scene with the unique and distinctive voice of Kimberly Mantz. Kimberly has been performing with Jesse Ciaramataro (Qwill) and the Further From Zen Orchestra over the past year. Kimberly is a very talented singer from Yankton, South Dakota. Her influences are Nancy Wilson, Etta James and Nina Simone. Having Kim in SFV allows the band to broaden its repertoire making the SFV shows a lot of fun.Henley Douglas Jr. (sax) whom also plays with Jesse, heard Kimberly’s voice and approached her about performing with his quartet. Kim’s vocal style was the perfect fit for the group. The band features Jeffrey Buckridge on guitar, Dave Walker on bass, and John Ilitis on drums. All the members of SFV have been influenced by many styles of music. This makes for the unique and soulful sound of the band.
