My nephews are my heart! These are the greatest little guys in the whole wide world!!
I love hanging out with people who can make me laugh. I tend to obsess over something until it bores me, then I totally lose interest. I love looking for things that hold my attention for more than a day or two.
Thinking on those lines, I guess obsession is sorta a hobby of mine. Sometimes, it's even productive.... Usually not, though.
Speaking of addictions and obsessions, I used to be fairly obsessed with watching the UFC. I still enjoy seeing a good fight--the sportsmanship of this particular fight sport has been what's impressed me the most--but as of late, there don't seem to be the personalities involved, and I've fallen out of the habit of watching as often. The fights just aren't as interesting to me anymore.
Another recent obsession of mine was Star Trek (Original Cast, please) and all things William Shatner. I've already admitted that I'm a dork.

Eddie Izzard. Nate Quarry. Andrei Arlovski. "Pre-Celebrity" Forrest Griffin (I've heard that fame has gone a bit to his head, and he has become something of an Ass over the past year.) Freddie Roach, just because he seems like a super nice guy. William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and Walter Koenig.
And anyone who can hold my attention for more than a day or two.

Anything with a lot of guitars and drums will always get me going. Eddie Vedder has the most amazing voice Ever!
I've also rediscovered Pink Floyd lately. I can't get enough of "Comfortably Numb" and "Wish You Were Here". The rest is good stuff, too, but I could listen to those two songs forever and not get tired of them.
My most recent musical discovery has been a group called I Monster. They are on my top friends list, and a couple songs can be found on my playlist up there, too. I love everything about their music, and I'm not sure I can explain what it is about it that I find so outstanding, but I adore it.
For me, music is more about the actual MUSIC than the lyrics. Even if it doesn't make sense, if it sounds good I can listen to it and enjoy it. I don't have to agree with the politics of the singer or the group. I don't have to know any other song by that band. Often, I don't even Care about any of that--I just think the song is catchy.
If the lyrics are great, but the music just isn't THERE, then I probably won't be able to listen to it. I might read the lyrics and quote them at times, but I won't rush out to buy the CD.
All that said, if I come across a song that I don't care for so much, but the lyrics just SPEAK to me, I'll grow to enjoy the song. Beautiful lyrics are nothing but poetry, and well done poetry ..well, is beautiful.
Just a handful of things I've been listening to lately: Tool, Rob Zombie, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Ani Difranco, Tori Amos, Iron and Wine, The Beautiful South, Imogene Heap, and a bit of William Shatner.
All of the original cast Star Trek movies, but especially IV. Re-Animator has recently been added to my list of favorites, too. I finally watched Red Dawn, and I have to say that it didn't live up to my expectations.
If I had to pick one "all time favorite movie", I'd probably pick Garden State. There are parts of the movie that are poorly done, but it's one that never fails to bring tears to my eyes.
I've watched Season One of Star Trek: The Original Series. Some episodes were not that great, but others were FANTASTIC, and I could watch them over and over again. "City on the Edge of Forever" was probably my favorite one, but there were many many great ones in that season.
I've started on Season 2, but I've lost some of my "drive" for it, it seems. "The Trouble with Tribbles" is definitely one of the best shows ever--I just had to say it. I just don't feel the burning need to see what happens next week with this season. I still think that William Shatner is the best thing since sliced bread, though.
I've watched most of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD. I'm about half way through season 7--the last season. It only took me a year and a half.... I think I've finally admitted that I'll probably never finish watching the last season--I hear that it's all down-hill. A few episodes have been fantastic ("Hush" and "Once More With Feeling", specifically), but after the first couple seasons, the show is pretty much crap.
I hate that Adult Swim took Futurama off their line up. I used to watch basically every night, but since it's not there anymore, I rarely if ever watch. I'm sure there are more people who feel the same way, too. Luckily, I own all the seasons and the movies on DVD, so I still fall asleep to the show basically every night.
I rarely watch the news, and I rarely read the news online, so I'm quite often out of the loop as to what is going on in the world.
A few other shows that I watch and/or would watch if they still came on television: Hell's Kitchen, House, American Idol (took me seven season before I watched an episode, but I have to admit that I finally became a fan last season), Scrubs, Dr Who with Tom Baker as the Doctor... And a few others that I can't think of at the moment.
A Tree Grows In Brooklyn; The Stand; IT; The Moon Below; The Wrinkle In Time series; To Kill A Mockingbird.... so many more!!! Currently reading: The Bible
