Vin Diesel, born as Mark Sinclair Vincent on July 18th, 1967 in New York City is a marvelous Hollywood actor, writer, director, and producer. He established production companies like Racetrack Records, Tigon Studios and OneRace Films. Speaking of his name change, Vin said that 'Vin' is the short form of Vincent and that 'Diesel' is a nickname given by his friends for his hyperactive qualities. His friends used to say 'he ran off diesel' referring to his ever-energetic nature.
Vin was born to Delora, a psychiatrist and astrologer. Vin was raised by his mother and stepfather Irving, an acting coach and a theater manager. Vin began appearing in stage plays since he was seven. During his college days Vin also developed his writing skills.
Vin began his movie career with "Awakenings" in 1990 in which he played an insignificant role. Four years later, Vin made a short film called "Multi-Facial" {1994}, which he produced, directed and acted in. Again in 1997, Vin made another movie, "Strays" in which he played the role of a gangster falling in love with a woman. The film "Strays" featured in the 1997 Sundance Festival and later the movie turned into an MTV television series.
Vin gave a critically acclaimed performances in movies like Steven Spielberg directed, "Saving Private Ryan" {1998}, "Pitch Black" {2000}, "The Fast and the Furious" {2001}, "xXx" {2002} and so on.
Vin also produced games 'The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay {2004}, 'The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena' {2008}, and 'The Wheelman" {2009} through his Tigon Studios. Vin Diesel zealously guards his private life away from the prying eyes.
