Babylonian Tiles

About Me

Here is your reprieve from the doldrums of mainstream innocuous drum beats and contrived vocal acrobatics. Babylonian Tiles is here to show us what it's like on the dark side. Combining elements of Indian and Middle Eastern swirling rhythm traditions with more 60's psychedelia, 70's experimentalism and 80's punk/post-punk aesthetics, Babylonian Tiles creates a unique blending from a vibrant musical palette.
Formed in the late 80's by vocalist and keyboard player, Bryna Golden, the band name came about as the result of a surreal dream from one of her closest friends. The core trio is completed with the perfected craftsmanship of Tim Thayer (Guitar) and Brian Schreiber (drums).
Rarely do you come across a band that can execute the same quality of musicianship live as they do in the studio but the Tiles do it and they make it look easy. This band has most deservedly earned their merit badge for endurance along with the road scars from five cross country U.S. tours during the past eight years.
Having built up a strong fan base over the years the Tiles have found that they have appealed to a diverse range of audiences. Only fitting for a band that has equally diverse influences such a: The Damned, King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Wire, Syd Barrett, The Doors, Stranglers and The Kinks. Babylonian Tiles also continues to receive college and web radio support across the country as well as gaining support from many underground and music scene publications.
