GABBY HAYZ: Keepsake
Check out one of my bands' new CD. It's a diverse combination of musical influences culminating into a southern-flavored classic rock CD from the deep south of Louisiana.

GABBY HAYZ CDBABY PAGE

Here I am on drums with one of the bands in which I play, Gabby Hayz, on the Bayou Boogie Show that aired on March 7, on KDCG-TV.

Well, if you're really interested, here it is: I was born in Opelousas, Louisiana. I went to Opelousas Catholic School from k-12th. I started playing in the school band, where I picked up trumpet, baritone and mainly DRUMS.
After graduation, I went to college and had way too much fun. In fact, I withdrew from the university right before they could tell me to take a "vacation." I then drove straight to the Armed Forces Recruitment Center and joined the U.S. Air Force as a cop.
While in the Air Force, I was stationed in Incirlik, Turkey. Then, I visited home on leave and married the most wonderful girl I met while I was having all that fun in college!
Together we lived in Rimini, Italy, until my enlistment expired; then we moved back to Louisiana. I enrolled in college again, but with more focus and a direction. In fact, I was on the Dean's List every semester until I graduated!
Also shortly after moving home, our daughter was born. Three years later our son arrived.
I was a military policeman in the Louisiana Army National Guard for many years, also. I tought English and journalism at Opelousas High School for nine years, but now I teach at the Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts.
Of course, I still play drums whenever I can.
That's about it.

Here's my latest brush with fame:
