D-Voice was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She began an interest in writing at the age of 10. Local talent shows in Atlanta was a major start for her. While attending Fort Valley State University, she took a break from rapping. She soon began to do spoken word/dramatics. After her powerful performance at FVSU talent show in 1996 entitled "RUMORS" she gained the confidence to continue on this journey. She participated in several other talent shows where she has won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes.. from rapping to dramatic poetry. D-Voice also gained a passion to inspire the youth. After she was given an assignment to speak to the youth about domestic violence, she developed an interest to become a "Motivational Speaker". D-Voice professor, at the time was so impressed with her ability to "move the crowd", he chose her to be the facilitator on behalf of FVSU Social Work Club. When D-Voice performed, she never received anything less than a standing ovation. She also has had three of her previous professors that requested copies of her work. D-Voice has written about domestic violence, relationships, broken homes etc. Her primary focus clearly addresses issues that someone has faced. Her main focus is delivering messages that anyone can relate to. Most people will say that D-Voice is not just an average speaker or rapper, she has the ability of addressing any issue and she grabs the attention of the entire audience. Speaking and writing is a natural born talent that she has been blessed with. This woman has beauty, personality and skills. After completing school at Kennesaw State University in 2006 with a B.S. in Human Services she still has this urge to do more..to touch more lives! And that's what ended her here... D-Voice began recording in summer of 2008 with the assistance of G.E. Entertainment V.P. Jerry Andrews. She recorded "I'm on a Mission", "Let's ride", and "Dear baby daddy" featuring Marcus B. and Jerry Andrews (ab-libs)...
