AHMED RESISTOL
Made in Mexico born in Chicago and in between San Luis Potosi and Little Village. Inspired by graffiti, Basquiat, Ernesto Che Guevara,positive compa's, fat caps, car rides through rival gang 'territory', second chances and movimientos my art breathes and lives from my surroundings. Illustrations of heart ache, amorous encounters and of resistance, a melting pot of ideas.
Living with in the belly of the beast and por la 26 estreet, there is plenty of inspiration both negative and positive. Attempting to illustrate and destroy in to another visual plane with colors and lines the everyday things. The complacence of many, the ridicule of new comers to this country, the deep rooted racism, the lingering nostalgia of a love lost, the police hostility, the repression and exploitation world wide through neo-liberal policies, the stories of displacement from the mountains of Guerrero to Pilsen in Chicago.
