Jasøn Of The Year

You are the dreamer, and I am the dream

About Me

My name is Jason Shannon, I'm 24 and live in Cannock, Staffs. I work as a data gatherer in Telford, though am on secondment as a pensions administrator in Birmingham at the moment. I was born in Plymouth and lived in that area for the duration of my school life, however I did go to boarding school in Sidmouth. I went to an all boys grammar school which I left after successful, yet personally dissapointing GCSE and A-level results. I went on to study Maths with Economics at Loughborough University where I got an abysmal 2:2. Since then I have salvaged some intellectual pride by getting into mensa and coming third in the Times national Su-Doku championships. Whilst at uni I worked at a few bars to supplement my income, both those jobs and university life helped me come out of my shell a bit. Before I had been a painfully shy person, but have since grown to be reasonably confident, though still not at a first meeting.
As you could probably guess from the size of the music section, I like my music and have a vast CD collection. I'm a bit of a hoarder and have a collection of Pez dispensers, and a large collection of pin (lapel) badges, plus many more random things strewn about my room.
I go to a few gigs and festivals. I've been to Reading, Download and Give It A Name three times each as well as Rock Am Ring in Germany earlier this year. Most gigs I go to are at Birmingham Academy, however I will travel to Nottingham occasionally, and further if necessary. Leter this year I will be going to Download for the whole weekend for the first time, Give It A Name for the fourth time, Slam Dunk festival for the second time and will see New Found Glory in November, with another couple of gigs being looked at. My dream is to go to see the Vans Warped Tour in America.
I'm a big football fan, Tottenham are my team though I've never lived in London. I think I was 'turned' during their 1991 Cup run and haven't looked back. I have seen them a few times but feel priced out of top level football. I follow Plymouth Argyle (being from Plymouth I've seen them more than any other team), Wolves (my grandad is a fan) and Barcelona (beautiful city and club). I also follow cricket, though not as avidly, I'm a Somerset man, sticking reasonably locally this time! I used to play both football and cricket when younger, I was a midfielder/defender on the pitch and on the square I was a fast bowler.
If you can't work out what I look like from my pictures, I'm about 6'2" and have shortish black hair, though it's naturally brown (not ginger as some people speculate!). I'm not exactly fat, but could do with a tune up! I'm very friendly once you've overcome the initial shyness, I'm quite funny, very intelligent and an overall nice guy. I do on occasion act a little camp, but I'm not gay! I drive a beautiful 04 reg Fiesta which gets me where I need to be fast, though other drivers seem to have recently taken a liking to driving into it. Anything else you need to know, just ask!

My Interests

I have many fleeting interests, like 'what happens when I do this' but my more long term interests are: Watching football and cricket, playing cricket, listening to music, going to gigs, juggling, watching good TV, updating my awesome website and generally making myself laugh (if other people laugh, it's a bonus)

I'd like to meet:

Outgoing people to compensate for the fact that at first I'm quite shy. People who share similar interest to myself, but isn't everybody?
Famous people I'd like to meet include Ciara Janson and Gemma Merna (Hollyoaks actresses), Paris Hilton, Lisa Scott Lee, Kimberley Walsh and Tom DeLonge.

Check out my website, just click on the box below this. I tried to make it a proper link but it didn't work. One day I'll figure it out.
