The Calf Branders

About Me

Fondis, CO - Coming out of nowhere (literally) the Calf Branders are sure to throw the Country and Western music industry on its side and tie it up. Drawing from both types of music, (Country and Western) the boys in the Calf Branders have their own BRAND of an all original "mighty fine" sound. Their playing draws from all the years of both branding calves for the local Fondis ranchers, and then playing their music for the tired cowboys and cowgirls after the branding is all done. These frequent and wild calf branding parties are the Wild West that is Fondis, and that is the Calf Branders. (The parties are held each time a rancher has a new crop of calves - quite often).Fondis, the home of the Calf Branders, is a proud little town in southeastern Colorado that strongly supports the band. Such longtime Fondis establishments like the Roadkill Cafe and Big Eddys Ranch Supply, have been especially helpful with tour support and of course monetary support. The Roadkill Cafe always packs a "doggie bag" for the boys. The Calf Branders released their 1st CD in 2005 - "Good Enuff". Their 2nd CD titled "It's Time to Party" has just been released in 2009. Both CD's feature almost all original songs. Why?! - (Because) they were never able to figure out any one elses songs, so they wrote their own). The Calf Branders are of course, the four brother all born in Fondis and all from the same father. Each has unique talents that add to the overall sound that is the Calf Branders:On standup bass and occasionally singing is Big Hank, a.k.a. Lance, who when he is not branding calves or playing music, seems to derive his income from his roping talents at the Fondis World Championship Rodeo Arena. Lance also plays bass in the Hillbilly Hellcats. On drums and occasionally singing is Buddy, who when he is not branding calves or playing drums, seems to spend most of his time playing drums. Buddy is also the drummer for the Foggy Mountain F$%kers and also played with the long running Denver band - Turn-sol.On rhythm guitar and occasionally singing is Christian who when he is not branding calves or playing music, has been known to wander the hills surrounding Fondis. Sometimes bringing back a strange clear liquid in mason jars from these trips, he is very popular with the Fondis Saloon owners, but no one really knows why. Christian was also in th eband the Foggy Mountain F$%kers. On lead guitar and occasionally singing, is Tony (a previous child actor). Tony also plays lead guitar for the Railbenders. The Calf Branders are excited about their 2 CD's and look forward to playing in the Denver area in 2009.
