JOHN WATTS

About Me

John was originally the mastermind of Fischer-Z, contemporaries of the Police and Talking Heads.
He has a distinguished catalogue of 17 albums – more than 2 million sales. His career was initially inspired by the great maverick artists, from Alex Harvey to Captain Beefheart.
His band Fischer-Z achieved continuous chart success and critical acclaim throughout continental Europe and Australia for over 20 years.
Watts has since amassed a considerable body of creative work. His distinctive writing has evolved steadily against a variety of musical colours encompassing written word, poetry and humour.
His last three albums have established him as a multimedia solo artist. ‘Ether Music & Film’ – with accompanying road movie, ‘Real Life Is Good Enough’ – with poetry book and ‘It Has To Be’ – real life stories documented on film.
John Watts has just created a unique multimedia music-based art piece.‘Morethanmusic’ is an art and music project split into 2 parts reinforcing his reputation as an artist in music and words. Morethanmusic & Films is a 13 track dvd/cd of music and films. He's also creating 100 special Morethanmusic Artefacts that you can commission from the site. These come with a song and artwork exclusively made for you.
