I was born and raised in a musical family in small southwestern town in Pennsylvania called Canonsburg; internationally known as the birthplace of legends Perry Como and Bobby Vinton. My father, Chuck Edwards, was also a local legend in the R&B and Soul circles. Some of his records are still highly sought after today. I began my music career like most kids, picking up my dad's guitars, playing them when he wasn't looking, breaking strings but growing fonder of music each time. As a young kid I drifted shortly to drums but decided early that the guitar was better cut out for me. Plus after hearing my younger brother play drums, I knew God meant for him to play that instrument in our family. My father was my first teacher and the one who left the greatest lessons in music on me. He was the ultimate entertainer. I never remember once ever seeing him intimidated by the huge crowds or other musicians in the house. He also taught me to be respectful of others, especially the fans, and to never be big headed. Performing behind our father, the family known as the Edwards Generation performed all over the Pittsburgh area and went on to perform in New York City.My family relocated to the California and after years of performing with our father, the four brothers moved on to another venture which led to performances in Japan, Canada, Norway, Germany, and Switzerland. After years of performing in the Bay Area, it became apparent it was time to do what I always yearned for years: to play my own music. Late Night Romance is a collection of some of my early compositions. Please take a listen and I hope you enjoy it. Blessings.
