In memory of Duane Lee Thompson October 31, 1972 - April 20, 2006. You will be in my heart forever. Duane Lee Thompson, 33, passed away April 20, 2006, at Hospice of the Valley in Mesa, AZ from colon cancer. Duane was born October 31, 1972, at Good Samaritan Hospital, in Phoenix, AZ. Duane was raised in North Scottsdale, attended Camelback Desert School and graduated from Chaparral High School in 1990. He attended the University of Arizona, Scottsdale Community College, and Arizona State University, receiving his mechanical engineering degree from ASU in 2003. Duane was an avid NASCAR and Phoenix Coyotes fan. He held Real Estate licensed in both Arizona and California. On May 17, 1997, he married Renee Sophia Rosen, in Huntington Beach, CA. Duane is survived by Renee and their five-year-old daughter Allison Rose. He is also survived by his parents, Jim and Naomi Thompson of Ahwatukee Foothills, and parents-in-law Jack and Linda Rosen of Rancho Mirage, CA. Also survived by sister and brother-in-law, Madeleine and Jim Coil, and nieces Caitlin, Laurel, and Aubrey. All of Yuma, AZ; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Andy Calles, and niece Megan and nephew Duncan, all of Ahwatukee Foothills; brother, Aaron, of Queen Creek; and grandfather, J.R. Thompson of Huntington, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up and Allison Thompson Education Fund in honor of Duane. Arrangements handled by Allen Funeral Home (480) 833-1716.
