Born in 1979 in Hackney, London,moved to study at a local secondary school in North Cyprus at the age of 10 where he learned to play guitar 4 years later he got involved in the high school band where he first started meeting other musicians and formed together a band outside school called “DEMIR PERDE†one year later Demir Perde released a single to be the first single released in North Cyprus. At the age of 15 Husnu decided to switch to bass when his mate Irfan Topcu the drummer of the band came up with the idea that they needed a new bass player. Since then has been playing bass.At the age of 17 stepped out of the band to study at university. One year later he was offered to play bass with Sunshine Band which was his second band with Sunshine band they represented North Cyprus in major music festivals at Izmir, Bodrum, Antalya and Istanbul in Turkey and they accompanied major Pop and Rock artists which visited North Cyprus for concert. Mean while also performed with most of the major bands and artists in North Cyprus when he was needed.In 1999 entered the exams to study in EMU music department where he studied classical music and flute for 5 years. He met Tony Jones (Nina Simone) and took private bass lessons from him. He graduated in July 2004 and decided to move back to London where he was born to carry on his music career…….After settling in London in 2004 July,got his first music job in a church where he played gospel music and later played with jazz pianist Soner Ersen in Papa’s café. Later he took NOCN jazz improvisation courses.Later met and got involved with song writer Sean Daly's Muzeum project where musicians like drummer Phil Gould (ex Level42) and saxophonist Gary Barnacle (ex Level42) were involved.Now working as a music tutor at East London and Gigging with GentlemanTim with them played at Calsberg Roots Festival in Ireland at 2006. Now studying masters at Kingston University composing for film and tv not performing due to fulltime studying.Husnu is inspired by many bass players and musicians and believes that the first step in becoming a good musician is to be open minded and disiplined.
