Nero C. aka Andrew David Howard-Greene - Born in Charlotte N.C. in 1983, raised in Lancaster S.C. till age 11. From 11-18 Los Osos CA a region of San Luis Obispo and SLO itself for 3 years after that. 22-25 I got a BA in conceptual art at SFSU, my music is right here for you to listen to and scrutinize at a safe distance, and I know more about whiskey and dive bars than you do... believe me.
Expect angry, melancholy, and personal lyrics about everything from my experience working in the field of youth education to my fractured past partnerships, relationships, bands, politics and the things I see out my window or sitting across the bar I serve drinks over. I grew up knocking hip hop, hardcore, metal, soul, roots reggae, punk, and even old country singers like Johnny Cash. I have been in metal bands, trip hop groups, and hip hop duos- I am putting together my first completely solo CD due out by ? with guest spots and guest producers I love and respect- get at me at: [email protected]. Get to know me here on myspace by browsing my music and my blog or just come visit me at 1166 Geneva on a Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday- Yelp "the Broken Record".

I have been called everything from "a breath of fresh air" to "the Death of hip hop". Its hella funny. Love me or hate me... I’m not going to compromise who I am or realign myself socially because what I talk about and the way I look doesn’t mesh with the image or the popular mandate of what “real hip hop†should be. I'll talk about Bush and prescription pills or a future city where robot socialites run for mayor and mars is the new third world. I make music because I miss hip hop and there aren't more than a handful of people out there making the shit that moves me no more. Join the movement: fuck the fake shit, buy independent, rep good artists to your friends and spread the word: it can be alive again, but only if you get out there and support.
