About Me

Operation Proud Hearts is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization exclusively organized for providing emergency services and morale to our troops and the families they leave behind, during every stage of military life.
Proud Hearts is sponsoring Breanna and her family during a difficult time. As well as having her father deployed to Afghanistan, Breanna has been diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, Chiari Malformation, as well as Cerebral Palsy.
Proud Hearts is offering "Breanna Bracelets" for a small donation to assist Breanna's family with their medical bills. Each bracelet will be embossed with "Proud Hearts 4 Breanna". If you would like to purchase a "Breanna Bracelet", please click here:
The following is a heart felt plea for support from Breanna's mother, Ashley H.
My husband and I have two little girls one of which we found out is disabled. In May 2008, after several months of not knowing what was wrong with our youngest daughter and a doctor who failed to treat her. We finally took her to a new pediatrician, the new doctor immediately knew there was something wrong. She had ordered an MRI. Our daughter was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus and Chiari malformation on May 27, which are two lifelong brain abnormalities.
She had her first surgery on June 3rd for a Shunt. A week later she had a seizure and was diagnosed with partial complex seizure disorder. As of right now, we have had several hospital visits with her. We are waiting to hear about labs and blood work to see if she has a metabolic disorder. In the next week or so she will have surgery for a feeding tube.
Her development has suffered tremendously, she is at a 4 month developmental age and weighs 14.8 lbs. She is apart of Easter Seals. My husband is a two time Iraqi War Vet with the 4th Infantry Division. He will be going over to Afghanistan with the 33BCT with the Illinois Army National Guard, in Aug. Our daughter is suppose to be schedule to have her 2nd brain surgery.
My husband works part time with the Nat Guard aka one weekend a month two weeks a year, however with the deployement he has been a way alot more. This means he is pulled away from his full time position at a local hospital as a security guard, which he loses pay.
We have been battling with our civilian insurance to pay for medical bills but because they are an HMO they are picking an choosing so her surgeries have not been paid for. Making groceries, rent, car payment, stuff for the girls hard to pay for. Any help we can get we would be greatful.
Matt, Ashley, Brooklin and Breanna H.
