About Me

A few years ago Matt and Jeff had just gotten home from a party in which they had struck out with the ladies. They popped in a DVD of the movie Rockstar and realized what had to happen. They put together a band called Ralph and booked a gig at a Fraternity party. They enlisted a phenomenal vocalist with a phenomenal ego to match. After several promising practices he inexplicably quit the band a few days before the gig, leaving them stranded. Matt took over the vocal duties for the party prompting comments after the gig such as you were really singing up there. In the days following they came to realize that there was something genetically impolite about their drummer as well. Ralph was no more. A few other vocalists and drummers would jam with the two, but there was just never the right fit. This caused Matt and Jeff to give up on the project and part ways.
A couple years later Jeff was playing good gigs regularly with another band and Matt was entertaining drunk people with acoustic covers of Ludacris and Britney Spears. Circumstances resulted in Matt moving in with Jeff and their other friend who played guitar. Matt and the friend started writing some songs. After running into their old friend Jin, an accomplished drummer, at a football game and pounding several beers they decided to form a band. Jeff decided he would help the guys out and play bass. Desperate for a singer Matt called a guy he knew named Brian who was feeling the sting of recently being rejected for American Idol. The first few months were rough; you had a nu-metal junkie bassist/country and western dancing aficianado, a guitarist who loved the toadies, incubus, and sublime but hated just about everything else, a drummer who in previous projects had played insanely fast, the most whipped man in recorded history, and a singer who would list Justin Timberlake as his primary influence. Somehow it started to come together and the group received a great response at their first couple of shows. Two events really served as a catalyst to get things moving. They parted ways with their guitarist friend so he could pursue his dream of spending 24 hours a day with his girlfriend and Jeffs other band broke up, allowing him to make Feeding James his main focus. Now the guys are moving closer to their dream of impressing women.
Feeding James has been described as a combination of Hoobastank, Papa Roach, 3 Days Grace, the Toadies and really a ridiculous litany of other bands. They are currently headlining at Houston's top venues, gigging around Texas, and playing with national acts such as SouthFm, Pushmonkey, Reckless Kelly, and Randy Rogers just to name a few.
