My good friend, Chris Skillern, and I have created new production company called, Rock U Mentally Entertainment and we are all about the kids. If you don't mind taking a minute, here is our mission statement and myspace address so that you can check out some of our tunes (complete with lyric sheets) and please, LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! God bless you all and thanks for the prayers.MISSION STATEMENT:When I was a small boy, my first grade teacher, Miss Yarborough (who I had a HUGE crush on!), announced to the class that we were going to have an art contest. She passed out colored paper and crayons and instructed us to use our imagination and to be creative. Well, my green snowman won first prize!What a great time in all of our lives when it was OK for a snowman to be green. It’s sad, but quite often nowadays kids are taught to stay within the boundaries of what is considered to be "the norm". We believe that much of a child’s creativity will be found outside these boundaries where they can be free to express themselves in whatever way they feel. In addition to that, the statement "That’s over a kid‘s head", is not in our vocabulary. Talking down to kids is not the answer. We should be talking up to them and by doing so, we will not only be challenging their minds, we will also be removing boundaries and limitations that would otherwise prevent them from reaching their full potential. It is for these reasons that we have created, Rock U Mentally Entertainment.Our hip, educational, musical creations are produced with the sole intention of planting the seed of knowledge into the absorbent minds of young children, and then encouraging them to bring those seeds to fruition by embracing their own creativity, seeking knowledge, and feeding their desire to learn.
