As a diabetic since age six, Michaels has proven that he controls his diabetes, it doesn’t control him. He has led a ‘normal’ life and he wants others to know they can do the same. A few years back, Michaels introduced a diabetic t-shirt to his merchandise line. A portion of the proceeds were designated to send kids to diabetic camps and activities where they can be with kids just like them and have fun. The diabetic “fear nothing” merchandise is still available and continues to send kids to camp each year along with monies raised from special auctions while on the road.
Michaels released “Rock My World” on June 3, 2008. Part soundtrack, part best of, “Rock My World” is a celebration of Bret Michaels soloo career. For those who only know him from the Rock of Love series will find many songs used on the show. Long-time fans will find a best of collection with new songs “Fallen,” “Go That Far” and “Start Again.” The CD can be purchased from BretMichaels.com or other music retailers.
